MPR Associates, Inc. welcomes Dr. Olivia Blackmon as Vice President of New Nuclear. In this position, Dr. Blackmon will lead the strategic development, deployment, and commercialization of next-generation nuclear technologies, while overseeing initiatives involving advanced reactor designs, small modular reactors (SMRs), and clean energy integration.

Dr. Blackmon has over 20 years of experience in critical infrastructures including national security and nuclear energy. Her work experience includes Oak Ridge Associated Universities, DAI, and MITRE where she has enjoyed a successful career specializing in the design of collaborative public-private partnerships that deliver innovative solutions to complex challenges across energy, critical infrastructure, national security, healthcare, and emerging technologies. Having worked in over 30 countries and speaking multiple languages, she has successfully built and managed programs totaling more than $200M with multiple federal and state agencies including the Department of Defense, Department of State, National Science Foundation, USAID, Department of Health and Human Services, and National Institute of Standards and Technology, and from philanthropic organizations such as the Hewlett Foundation and Carnegie Foundation of New York.
Dr. Blackmon earned a B.S., M.S. and PhD. in Sociology from George Mason University, she was an EWA fellow at Harvard University and served as a Fulbright Specialist in Africa and South America.
