    Nuclear Power Plant Emergency Generator

    MPR received a request from a nuclear power plant to conduct a full scale test to demonstrate that its emergency diesel generator (EDG) was capable of operating for an extended period of time at no load. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) had stated that it was unacceptable to operate its engines for long periods of time with little or no load on the engine generator set. Since the EDG is not required to produce full rated power during most accident conditions, the USNRC was concerned that the engine would not support its long-term plant safety mission. Read More

  • First-of-a-Kind Liposuction System

    MPR was asked by a start-up company with an innovative core technology to develop the Phaser Lipoplasty System, to allow for more effective tissue removal during liposuction procedures. By identifying and employing specific pressures and temperatures, adipose tissue may be removed with this system without burning or otherwise damaging non-target tissues within the surgical field. MPR performed initial testing to characterize this technology, as well as conceptualization, proof-of-concept development, detailed engineering, and verification and validation activities. By working concurrently with our industrial design service, HUCKdesign℠, the new liposuction system was delivered from sketch to FDA submission in twelve months.
