CT Guided Needle Insertion Robot

The Need: Cancer treatment vaccines (drugs that evoke an immune system response to fight tumors) are one of the most effective methods for tumor reduction. These treatments are the most effective when delivered directly into the tumor, and researchers are currently using CT guided injection to deliver this treatment. However, this is a challenging and lengthy procedure due to the manual process used to insert fine needles while avoiding internal organs. 

MPR's Solution:
 Working with researches, MPR has created a needle insertion robot to dramatically improve needle placement accuracy using real time CT imaging. The rapid prototype effort included:
