Products:
Specialty
Specialty Products designed and developed by MPR include unique repair designs for specific applications in the
nuclear, fossil, marine, and pharmaceutical industries. Some examples include the MPR Core Shroud
Repair for BWRs, TMI Reactor Vessel Sample Extraction Device, and an apparatus for removing foreign
matter from heat exchanger tubesheets.
Several specific examples of our specialty work are:
- ADM Cohen (Chief of Naval Research) has selected the DC-ARM
Smart Valve as
one of the 16 Navy technology products being
demonstrated aboard ONR's "Afloat Lab." We've built a Smart
Valve Demonstrator which will be aboard the "Afloat Lab" in the
DC area from June 22 through July 13. With the innovative logic that we invented, the Smart Valve
achieves true device level control. In addition to a high
level of survivability, this device level control provides a
very robust system with an open architecture that enables
cost-effective design, maintenance, and upgrades of the
distributed controls. The logic invented by MPR combined with
the sensors, processes, and valve hardware engineered by Tyco
Flow Control produce a capability that brings to fruition the
benefits promised by device level controls.
- The Over-Fire Air System designed by MPR which integrates control of the combustion process with the
distribution of CO, O2 and NOx emissions measured in the flue gas. Individual control and measurement
of the air to each over-fire air port and burner allows flexibility to control NOx emissions while
responding to changes in the combustion process resulting from variations in the unit load and furnace
slagging conditions. The Over-Fire Air System is added to the existing combustion control system to
ensure the most stable and lowest practical NOx emissions behavior prior to the addition of any post-combustion
NOx control.
