MPR personnel have had responsibilities for the design, testing, procurement and operation of fuel handling equipment since the early days of nuclear power. This work has included responsibility for the design and trouble-shooting of equipment for defueling and refueling of land-based and naval power reactors. We have performed design reviews of problem refueling systems in commercial nuclear power plants and assisted in the procurement and installation of replacement equipment. We have also developed electrically powered reactor pressure vessel annealing technology for application in U.S. reactors.
